Since I was a kid, my father got me hooked on these little candies. Manufactured by the C. Howard Company and distributed initially in New York/New Jersey, these little candies have been a favorite of mine because my father’s frequent business trips to that region while I was a kid.

Because I often get a crazy idea for something to try in the kitchen, be it something that I have never made before, be it something I’ve always wanted to try or be it just an old favorite, I have come up with a list of rules that I always take into consideration when preparing any kind of an epicurean delight in my kitchen:
